Project SAMAGRA: Holistic Rural Development Programme
Water scarcity is a growing concern across the nation, and MVS India is dedicated to promoting sustainable water management practices, enhancing irrigation systems, and conserving natural resources. Through community engagement and innovative techniques, we strive to address water challenges and preserve ecosystems. By building water harvesting structures following the ridge to valley watershed concept, improving moisture soil quality, and optimising the use of available resources, MVS is empowering communities to secure their livelihoods while fostering environmental sustainability. We are committed to creating lasting solutions to tackle water scarcity and preserve natural ecosystems.
Our Key Initiatives Include:
Water Harvesting and Recharge: Implementing rainwater harvesting systems and enhancing groundwater recharge through modern and traditional methods.
Revival of Traditional Water Systems: We focus on reviving age-old systems like Khadins, Nadi, Kuhls, and dug wells to restore natural water reservoirs.
Integrated Watershed Development and Management: Working with local communities to rejuvenate watersheds, restoring ecosystems that sustain water resources.
Irrigation Infrastructure and Lift Irrigation Schemes: We collectivize farmers into groups to install small lift irrigation systems that bring water from sources to farmer fields, improving irrigation efficiency.
Water Use Efficiency:
Educating communities, farmers, and organizations on better ways to manage water, with a focus on participatory groundwater management and irrigation practices.
Micro and Sprinkler Irrigation Promotion: We enhance water use efficiency by promoting advanced irrigation technologies like micro-irrigation and sprinklers, ensuring optimal use of water resources.
The goal of a Holistic Rural Development Project is to improve the overall well-being of rural communities by enhancing livelihoods opportunities, healthcare facilities, quality education, optimum utilization of natural resources, skills development and transfer of improved agriculture practices to acquire quality life.
