Dr. Srikrishna Sharma
(1962-2021)
Dr. Srikrishna Sharma was a man of remarkable depth, compassion, and determination. Born on 18th October 1962 into a humble rural family, he learned the values of hard work and perseverance from his parents—a school teacher and a farmer. From an early age, he was driven not just by the desire for personal success, but by a deep commitment to uplifting those around him, especially his family and his community.
What set Dr. Sharma apart was his unshakable belief that no matter where one starts, the path forward is shaped by dedication, kindness, and a vision for a better future. His parents’ struggles and strength were his greatest inspirations, fueling his lifelong passion for education, empowerment, and service to others. He earned an M.Sc. in Physics, an MBA, and a PhD, and was an alumnus of IIM Calcutta. Yet, despite his academic brilliance, it was his humility, generosity, and the genuine love he had for helping others that left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Dr. Sharma’s personality was defined by empathy, resilience, and a quiet but powerful determination. His love for learning and a tireless quest for knowledge were at the heart of everything he did, but it was his compassion and unwavering commitment to others that truly defined him. Whether through personal mentorship, women’s empowerment initiatives, or his extensive philanthropic projects in rural development, animal welfare, and health, he always sought to uplift the most vulnerable.
He believed that small acts of kindness could ripple outward to create larger waves of change. Those who knew him speak of his warm heart, his genuine interest in the well-being of others, and his deep spiritual connection to the values of service and compassion.
Dr. Sharma’s passing in 2021 marked the loss of a remarkable individual whose life’s work continues to inspire. His spirit lives on in the projects he started and in the hearts of those who carry forward his vision. Through Manav Vikas Sanstha, his legacy of kindness, empowerment, and hope will continue to touch lives for generations to come.
Om Shanti.
